Ms. Peña, MPH, MA, has worked at Gynuity since 2004 on a broad portfolio of projects including research, training and technical support to governments and health systems on medical abortion, postabortion care, postpartum hemorrhage, preeclampsia, and increasing access to quality maternal and reproductive health care through task-sharing initiatives. She has supported a growing body of work in Mexico since 2007. Prior to joining Gynuity Ms. Peña worked for various NGOs managing reproductive and sexual health and rights education and advocacy initiatives in Latin America and the United States. She has a strong track record developing training curricula for a range of audiences including youth, health care providers, health systems administrators and other professional groups. Ms. Peña holds a B.A. in Psychology from California State University, Chico, and dual Masters degrees in Public Health and in Latin American Studies from the University of California, Los Angeles. She is a native English speaker, fluent in both Spanish and Portuguese.
