In collaboration with local partners, Gynuity conducted a clinical trial in rural villages in the North West Frontier Province of Pakistan to evaluate the effectiveness of misoprostol for prevention of postpartum hemorrhage when delivered by trained birth attendants in a home delivery setting. These results are published as Mobeen et al 2011.

An additional protocol evaluating misoprostol as an adjunct treatment along with injectable oxytocics for the treatment of postpartum hemorrhage was conducted in four Karachi-based hospitals together in collaboration with the Aga Khan University. The results of this study were published in BMC Pregnancy and Childbirth in August, 2008.
