This article reports data from multi-site randomized trials comparing 400 mcg misoprostol to standard surgical care for treatment of incomplete abortion in 5 sub-Saharan African countries: Burkina Faso, Mauritania, Niger, Nigeria and Senegal. The results provide additional evidence for the misoprostol regimen evaluated and demonstrate the feasibility of its use in this context.
