Gynuity selected three countries for a focused assessment of the availability of essential supplies for the management and treatment of hypertensive disorders in pregnancy (HDP) - specifically, antihypertensive medications and blood pressure devices.
With our partners in Uganda, Mexico and India, we assessed readiness of primary and secondary health facilities to diagnose, monitor and treat women with pre-eclampsia and eclampsia and other HDP. We further identified gaps in equipment, medicines and policy and procurement practices that can pose barriers to recommended management.
Country reports on Uganda, India and Mexico (available in Spanish only).
A project report summarizing the findings from all three countries is available here.
