    Peggy’s bio

    Peggy is Production and Design Assistant at Gynuity. Before joining Gynuity, Peggy worked as a graphic design production associate for OnEarth Magazine, formally known as the Amicus Journal. She holds a B.F.A. in Graphic Design from the Fashion Institute of Technology. She also holds a B.S. in Computer Science, Studio Art and Elementary Education and an M.S. in Early Childhood Elementary Education from Hunter College.

  • Manuel Bousiéguez, Consulting Associate
    Manuel’s bio

    Manuel oversees Gynuity's research projects in Mexico. He has spent more than 20 years working on sexual and reproductive health care and has experience conducting clinical studies, evidence-dissemination and technical assistance for health systems. Manuel also works as a consultant for Verge and previously worked as researcher at the Population Council—Mexico office. Manuel holds an undergraduate degree in Engineering from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and an MBA from Mexico’s Pan-American Institute for High Business Management. He is pursuing a Master of Public Health at Mexico’s National Institute of Public Health. Manuel is fluent in Spanish and English.

  • Jill Durocher, Senior Consulting Associate
    Jill’s bio

    Jill has over 20 years of experience in reproductive and maternal health research, advocacy, and fundraising. Since 2005, Jill has supported the design and execution of Gynuity’s research, training, and dissemination activities in countries like Pakistan, Uganda, and Ecuador, and has published widely in peer-reviewed journals. Jill builds productive partnerships with donors, ministries of health, and service delivery and non-governmental organizations and has a passion for strategic planning and development. Jill holds a B.A. in Anthropology and Spanish from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and she completed graduate coursework in participatory development and planning at New York University’s Gallatin Graduate School of Individualized Studies.

  • Yelena Elyukin, Senior Director of Finance and Administration
    Yelena’s bio

    Yelena is Senior Director of Finance and Administration and oversees Gynuity's financial planning and operations. Before joining Gynuity, Yelena worked as an office manager for Softlabs, LLC and as a bookkeeper for Fine Art Acrylic, Inc. She holds a B.A. in Economics from Tashkent State Institute of Finance in the former Soviet Union.

  • Mitra Katz, Finance and Administration Assistant
    Mitra’s bio

    Mitra is Finance and Administration Assistant at Gynuity. She is responsible for general bookkeeping and supports the financial and contractual management of projects and grants. Mitra volunteers in the foster care system as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA). She holds a B.A. in World Arts & Cultures from UCLA and a M.A. in Humanities & Social Thought from NYU.

  • Tamar Tsereteli, Senior Consulting Associate
    Tamar’s bio

    Tamar coordinates Gynuity's research in Eastern Europe and Central Asia. Previously, she managed STI/HIV prevention projects for Save the Children and coordinated projects on reproductive health strengthening at John Snow Research and Training Institute in Georgia. She has been a WHO clinical study investigator on medication abortion and emergency contraception. Tamar holds a doctorate in Reproductive Health from the Scientific Academy of Georgia, an MSc from the University of Edinburgh, and an M.D. from Tbilisi State Medical University. Based in Tbilisi, she is fluent in Georgian, English, and Russian.

  • Clare Waite, Consulting Associate
    Clare’s bio

    Clare oversees Gynuity's communications. She develops and coordinates the dissemination of a broad spectrum of materials related to Gynuity's research projects. Prior to joining Gynuity, she worked in a variety of roles for international organizations, including the International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics (FIGO), MSI for Reproductive Choices, the Guttmacher Institute, MSI Ethiopia, the International Planned Parenthood Federation, Orbis Ethiopia, and Amnesty International. Clare holds a B.A. Hons in modern languages and contemporary history, and has a working knowledge of Italian, French, Spanish and Portuguese.

  • Beverly Winikoff, President
    Beverly’s bio

    Beverly, M.D., M.P.H., is President of Gynuity. Before founding Gynuity in 2003, Beverly was employed at the Population Council as director for reproductive health and senior medical associate and at the Rockefeller Foundation as assistant director for health services. Beverly has received wide recognition for her contributions to improving reproductive and maternal health care access, and has held positions on multiple boards of directors. Beverly graduated from Harvard University magna cum laude and earned her Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from New York University and her Master of Public Health degree from the Harvard School of Public Health.
