Gynuity Video Receives Honorable Mention at 2017 CUGH-Pulitzer Global Health Video Competition

The video ‘Postpartum Hemorrhage Management in Home Delivery Settings in Chitral, Pakistan’, produced by Gynuity Health Projects and Red Rabbit Productions, will be screened at the Consortium of Universities for Global Health (CUGH) annual academic conference to be held in Washington DC on April 7- 9, 2017. CUGH, in partnership with the Pulitzer Center, hosts a competition for videos that highlight important global health issues and innovations.

The video, which received honorable mention in the Innovations in Global Health category, showcases a service model that provides trained traditional birth attendants (TBA) with misoprostol to use in home deliveries to manage postpartum hemorrhage. Footage illustrates challenges with accessing health facilities in Chitral and presents the TBAs’ and other health care providers’ thoughts on this service model and barriers to care.
