Non-Physician Clinicians Can Safely Provide First Trimester Medical Abortion

In this article the role of mid-level health care providers in the provision of first trimester medical abortion care is discussed. The authors emphasize that non-physician providers such as nurses and midwives are well-positioned to offer services and that doing so could greatly expand access to medical abortion for women, especially in rural or remote areas.
