This article reports on the results of a study comparing sublingual misoprostol to MVA for the treatment of incomplete abortion in Egypt. The results demonstrate that misoprostol is a highly effective and feasible treatment alternative to surgery, and that the likelihood of a clinically important drop in Hb (<2 g/dl) post treatment is comparably rare following medical and surgical treatment.
