Dissemination Meeting - Improving Safe Abortion Services in Azerbaijan

Gynuity convened a dissemination meeting in Ganja, Azerbaijan, on the results of our study “Acceptability and feasibility of demedicalized medical abortion regimen in Azerbaijan”. The study was conducted in three clinics in Ganja and Zakatala. Thirty-five participants attended the dissemination meeting including representatives from the Ministry of Health, international NGOs, medical providers and other key stakeholders. The head of the public health department welcomed all participants and highlighted the importance of expanding safe abortion services throughout the country. The dissemination meeting included a presentation on the current situation of elective termination of pregnancy in Azerbaijan, presentations on mifepristone-misoprostol medical abortion, as well as a Gynuity presentation on the results of the study.
