Second Trimester Medical Abortion in Armenia

On November 29, 2012, Gynuity held a training in the capital city of Yerevan on the clinical protocol “Mifepristone and misoprostol for mid-trimester termination of pregnancy (13-22 weeks LMP) in Armenia”. The training was attended by the study team, consisting of six obstetrician/gynecologists and four nurses from the Republican Institute of Reproductive Health, Perinatology, Obstetrics and Gynecology and the Second Department of State Medical University currently offering second trimester abortion services. In addition, the training was attended by two representatives from the local NGO Women’s Rights Center, who is coordinating the clinical study.
