Special Session at Dakar Family Planning Conference

Gynuity Health Projects and PSI hosted an interactive round table discussion at an auxiliary session during the 2011 International Conference of Family Planning held in Dakar, Senegal on November 29th. Guest speakers included providers from Niger and Uganda as well as local researchers. During the session titled: “Strategies to facilitate the availability of postabortion care services:, speakers and participants shared experiences introducing PAC services as well as related challenges and effective strategies for addressing them. Additionally, the session focused on the introduction of misoprostol for PAC and how these services could potentially bridge the gap between the lack or failure of family planning.
