Training for African Network for Medical Abortion

May 22-27 in Tunisia, Gynuity provided support to a training of trainers (TOT) in the areas of medical abortion and post-abortion care. The training, hosted by ANMA (African Network for Medical Abortion) provided theoretical and practical training for a dozen francophone doctors, nurses and midwives from North, West and Central Africa. By holding a training in a country where abortion is legal, participants (typically trained and practicing in settings where abortion is restricted), had a unique opportunity to gain firsthand experience in providing both surgical and medical methods in hospitals and family planning clinics.
