Training for Guatemalan Healthcare Providers on Misoprostol for Incomplete Abortion

Gynuity, in collaboration with Planned Parenthood Federation International Division, is implementing an introductory project to integrate misoprostol as a first-line treatment for incomplete abortion in a hospital in Amatitlán, Guatemala. On February 17th, 26 health care providers were trained on the new protocol and service delivery issues, and operationalization of the new service was discussed by hospital staff and administrators. Subsequent to the training, the hospital will begin offering misoprostol to all eligible patients attending the service.
