Workshop on Advocacy for Safe Abortion in Kiev, Ukraine

Women’s Health and Family Planning (WHFP) in collaboration with the Eastern European Alliance for Reproductive Choice (EEARC) and the Women’s Global Network for Reproductive Rights (WGNRR) organized a 3-day workshop entitled “Safe Abortion Advocacy Strategy: Mobilizing for Action,” in Kiev, Ukraine on March 26-28, 2012. Twenty participants from 13 countries participated in the workshop, including representatives from Eastern Europe, the Caucasus, Central Asia, and Gynuity Health Projects.

During the workshop, participants gained knowledge about strategies employed when advocating for safe abortion, strengthened their advocacy skills, expanded their networks and alliances, and developed a regional advocacy plan that can be implemented at the country level. The workshop was funded by Gynuity Health Projects and the European Society of Contraception.
