FIGO Safe Abortion Meeting, Tbilisi, Georgia

Gynuity staff attended the Sixth Regional Workshop of the FIGO Initiative on Unsafe Abortions July 11-12 in Tbilisi, Georgia. The workshop aimed to present progress, challenges and barriers in the implementation of national action plans to reduce the consequences of unsafe abortions, and to plan future activities in this field. Gynuity staff gave a presentation on “Increasing access to medical abortion in Eastern Europe and Central Asian countries”. The topic included the common trends for pregnancy termination and access to medical abortion services in the region, and described Gynuity Health Projects’ collaborative activities in EE/CA countries and how they have contributed to the expansion of use of medical abortion regionally.
