Medical abortion trainings with Indonesia Planned Parenthood Association (IPPA) Clinics

We kicked off a medical abortion training program in collaboration with IPPA and IPPF-ESEAOR in June 2013. One training took place in Bali and included participation of 15 IPPA staff from the clinics in Bali and West Nusa Tenggara. A second training was conducted in Yogyakarta with 18 IPPA staff from clinics in Yogyakarta and Surabaya. Each training was completed over the course of two days and included values clarification exercises, as well as orientation in the clinical aspects and counseling considerations of providing medical abortion services. This training program will continue until all 15 of IPPA’s clinics that participate in IPPF’s Global Comprehensive Abortion Care Initiative have received training.
